Hi fellow stargazers!
Just a reminder of two activities coming up next week.
On Monday, Dec. 14th from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in the Navajo room at the Fountain Hills Community Center we’ll have our December club meeting. Presentations will include “How We Know the Size of the Universe” and “How to Buy a Telescope”. We’ll also discuss what folks think is the best schedule for club meetings.
The next night, Tuesday, Dec. 15th from 6pm-9pm we’ll be assisting the Library with the December public skywatch in Centennial Circle outside the Library. If you can bring a scope or help operate one of the club/library scopes, please email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we’ll know how many extra scopes to set up. Operating a scope is quite simple, it will be tracking an object and you’ll pretty much just have to show people where the eyepiece is and tell them what they are looking at. (And it’s a lot of fun!) The crescent Moon will have tons of great detail visible on it, and by around 8pm we should be getting a good view of the Orion Nebula where stars are being born. Please dress warmly, temperatures will be cold with overnight lows predicted to drop into the 40’s.
Hope to see you there!
